This individual will be responsible for providing counter services, attending to clients, handling telephonic and other enquiries received, receiving and registering hand-delivered mail/files, handling incoming
and outgoing correspondence, distributing notices on registry issues, rendering an effective filing and record management service, opening and closing files according to a record classification system; filing/storing; tracing documents electronically or manually;
retrieving documents or files; completing index cards for all files; operating office machines in relation to the registry function; opening and maintaining a franking machine register as well as recording money spent on postage daily.
Applicants must possess a Grade 12 Certificate with no experience required but knowledge of registry duties/practices as well as the ability to capture data and operate computers are essential.
It is also necessary that applicants have working knowledge of the legislative framework governing Public Service along with understanding of storage/retrieval procedures in terms of the working environment.
Furthermore, planning & organization skills along with computer literacy & language skills (verbal & written) must be demonstrated too. Interpersonal relations & flexibility within a team setting are also key requirements for this role.
